Tinnitus Maskers – Fast Temporary Relief
Do you want relief from the constant buzzing in your head? Just imagine yourself sitting by a beautiful fountain. Can you feel the tension easing out of you as you listen to the to the water’s melody? The sound of water flowing was one of the first tinnitus maskers. Go and try this for yourself. Turn on a faucet slowly. As the water flow gets stronger, see if your tinnitus fades into the background. If this test is successful you are a prime candidate for a tinnitus masker.
While tinnitus maskers are not a cure they may be the best means of relief in the mean time. There are many products to mask the ringing of tinnitus. You can buy Cd’s and MP3′S with water sounds or what they call white noise. There are devices that play recordings of natural forest sound and soft music while you sleep. There are also hearing aids and devices like hearing aids that can be worn during the day.
Let’s discuss the types of wearable maskers that you can get. There are three categories.
1.Hearing aids can help people with tinnitus and some level of hearing loss. The brain is used to a certain levels of noise. If something is missing due to hearing loss the brain fills it in with that certain ringing or buzzing we are all familiar with. Another reason that hearing aids work is that other background sounds are amplified to drown out the ear ringing.
2.Tinnitus maskers help people who do not have hearing loss. The brain can learn to ignore the sounds of tinnitus if it has something else to concentrate on. The tinnitus maskers work by providing a masking sound to hear instead of the tinnitus. Some of the newer maskers are can be tuned to the individuals tinnitus sound and do a better job. For a few lucky tinnitus suffers the tinnitus sound remains at a lower level after the tinnitus masker is turned off. They call it “residual inhibition”. The quiet can last for some time, for others it is only brief relief.
3.Tinnitus instruments combine the amplification of a hearing aid and the masking sound of a tinnitus masker. They seem to be work better than either the hearing aid or the tinnitus masker alone. They help the wearer sleep better at night. The wearer might experience the residual inhibition when the device is turne

d off for the night. Otherwise the amplification can be turned off while leaving the masking sound turned on. It’s the best of both worlds.
I recommend using a tinnitus masker for relief while working towards a permanent cure by some other, preferably natural means. There are many natural treatments that when taken together can provide that permanent cure by attacking the root cause of tinnitus.
Does anyone here suffer from tinnitus and have you found any medication?
that helps in the slightest.
Mine is been very bad just now hence the reason for me sitting here in front of computer at 6.00am as I cannot sleep because of the incessant hissing noise in my ears. I have had this condition for years but for some reason it is very bad just now…could be the cold weather that is effecting it.
Have you any suggestiosn…I know all about the masking by using tapes and music to dapen the noise but is there not a tablet that could also dampen down the noise?
Any suggestions would be appreciated please.
It is never easy to cope with something, whether a physical illness or an emotional battle. Hence, coping with tinnitus can be downright disheartening for anyone. If you happen to be on the same battlefield, then you must teach yourself to deal with the matter positively instead of dwelling more on the negative.
You Are Not Alone In This
First and foremost, keep in mind that you’re not the only one with such dilemma. You may not know of anybody who has it, but rest assured that there are more people out there who are experiencing the same concern, the same fears and the same anxieties as you do. Other cases may even be worst than yours.
So put it this way, you are not given this problem to torment yourself for reasons of being different or for whatever reason you may be feeding yourself with. It just so happens that you have it too for a reason that surely science can explain and that there are indeed several things for you to do to better your chances in dealing and coping with the condition.
Don’t Give Up Hope…Ever.
On the other hand, some individuals who are suffering from the disease for quite some time have already given up hope, thinking that nothing will work well for them. Do not be a slave of such perception. Tinnitus is a disturbing condition, yet you do not have to deal with it as if it is your worst nightmare. Read on and you will be guided on how to cope with tinnitus to somehow make the ordeal less heartbreaking.
As mentioned, do not wallow in miseries for you are not alone. There are more people than you actually think who understand what you are going through. If you feel the need to reach out to any of them, the Internet is a viable tool to make it happen. Through the World Wide Web, you will be able to search for more information on the topic, as well as ask and get any form of help, and you will also be able to come across different people who are into the same medical problem. You may interact with these people and develop your own support group.
Whatever predicament or situation you are into, you should not lose hope. With tinnitus, know that you have good options to choose from in terms of treatment. It is not true that your condition is hopeless and that there is nothing more to do about it. Although most tinnitus treatments are regarded as “experimental,” they actually help and alleviate the condition. Newfangled treatments are constantly developed and in time, you will soon find gratifying relief.
Another excellent approach to coping with tinnitus is having the right attitude. This means to say that you keep a positive mindset. Live each day at its best. You sure cannot worry of today and tomorrow at the same time. So instead of worrying what will happen tomorrow or how far tinnitus can potentially damage your self-esteem, adapt a habit that lures in a beneficial vibe. Take the time to stop and smell the flowers for instance or learn to be more appreciative of every petty gesture from a friend or a family member. Stop worrying too much. Focus on your day to day life as it comes and take the time to enjoy.
Coping With Tinnitus Doesn’t Have to be a Struggle
If you take these advices to heart, not long after you will be surprised to realize that coping with tinnitus is not that difficult at all.
