Home Based Remedy For Animal Bites
by: Sharon Hopkins
You are an avid animal lover. Dogs and cats are the most favoured animals. But at times they are not that attractive. They are responsible for more than a million bites the world over, with children suffering from half of them. Cats love to scratch their nails on your body.
Your other pet hamster has bitten your fingers. Your parrot has poked you with its beak. There are a variety of ways that animals can hurt you. Their bites should not be ignored.
Dogs and cats in particular contain bacteria in their saliva and can cause infection. Hence if you are bitten by any animal, even household ones, you should be treated by a doctor. But you can also follow the tips given below along with other medications to speed up healing:
• Wash the wound thoroughly: After you have controlled the bleeding by pressing firmly against the wound with your hand, clean the wound thoroughly with soap and warm water to remove any traces of saliva and any other contamination as soon as possible. Continue washing for full five minutes. You can also wash the wound with anti-bacterial liquid poured on a cotton ball and apply it to the infected area.
• Cover the wound: Cover the wound with a bandage to protect it from infection. The bandage should be applied loosely so that the wound does not fester due to lack of exposure to air. You can also cover the wound with a sterile gauze pad.
• Take a pain reliever: All bites are painful, even those that do not break the skin. Hence, take aspirin or acetaminophen to reduce the pain. Do not wait for the area to swell. Elevate the area if possible and apply ice or cold pack wrapped in a towel. But avoid giving aspirin to children.
If the bite is deep or if the wound bleeds continuously, you should visit the doctor immediately. If the bite is caused by a stray animal, you are better off visiting the doctor. You should also visit the doctor if there is any swelling, redness or pain around the wound.

Tinnitus is a common problem that affects about one in five people. It is actually a symptom that manifests itself by the person hearing a noise or ringing in the ear when there is actually no external noise or sound present.
Tinnitus symptoms not only include ringing in ear but may also be heard as:
• Whistling
• Buzzing
• Roaring
• Clicking
• Pulsing
• Ocean waves
• Dial Tones
The sound can vary in pitch from low to high, can be sing tone or multi-tonal, be in one ear or both and may be constant, intermittent or pulsing.
There are two classifications of Tinnitus:
Subjective – which is the most common symptom that is a form only audible to the person. This symptom in particular is also thought to be reported in 80 percent of those who suffer sensorineural hearing loss.
Objective – mostly associated with vascular or muscular disorders and relates to less than 5 percent Tinnitus cases. Unlike Subjective Tinnitus, this symptom is audible to your doctor and is often described as pulsatile, or synchronous to the persons heartbeat.
Though the severity of Tinnitus symptoms may vary, the annoying ringing in ear may also be the cause for difficulty sleeping, loss of concentration, depression and anxiety.
Being that Tinnitus is not a condition but rather a symptom of some other health problem, it is recommended that a doctor be consulted to possibly find the root cause. Some treatments that may be suggested are noise suppression devices and medications.
In addition, there is now a Tinnitus natural remedy available that can reduce and even stop ringing in ears. For more information on this fantastic new development Click Here!

Reflexology Massage Therapy Can Treat Tinnitus In Bradenton And Sarasota Fl
Patients suffering from tinnitus can be treated through reflexology massage therapy in therapeutic massage spas in Bradenton and Sarasota FL.
Mary Martin, founder of the Association of Reflexologists and of her own School of Reflexology, has case studies of her own tinnitus patients treated successfully with reflexology.
According to Martin, patients with tinnitus hear sounds such as ringing, whistling, buzzing, hissing or even roaring in one or both ears or in their heads. Depending on the case, these sounds can be constant or can come and go. The level of the sound also varies in each individual. It interferes greatly with normal life and can lead to insomnia and depression. In many cases, tinnitus is accompanied by deafness.
Martin states that although tinnitus is not visible and patients often do not show any outward signs of their suffering, people with tinnitus need much courage in bearing the affliction.
Among the possible causes of tinnitus are complications from secretory otitis media in children; ear infections or inflammations; Menière’s disease; Otosclerosis; disorders of blood vessels in the head; high doses of certain drugs such as quinine, aspirin and selected antibiotics; severely impacted wax; and long-term exposure to extremely loud noise such as music from earphones, the noise of pneumatic drills and other prolonged noises. One of the most important triggers, however, is stress.
While Martin recommends consulting an ear-nose-throat (ENT) medical specialist, she points out that there is often no medical cure for tinnitus. Instead, a masking device is usually prescribed. This is like a hearing aid, except that it emits its own noise intended to distract the patient from the sound of tinnitus. Not all patients take to it, though.
Martin presents the case of her 43-year-old female patient who could not be helped by several doctors in seven years because her tinnitus was caused by stress. She also suffered from extreme anxiety and had panic attacks. Her condition was progressively getting worse. After the second reflexology treatment, the tinnitus stopped. After the third treatment, a slight ringing returne

d but also stopped before the day ended. The same happened after the fourth treatment. After the sixth treatment, the tinnitus was totally eliminated. Her panic attacks were also resolved. She became more relaxed and was definitely happier.
Martin’s other tinnitus patient was a 22-year-old male who had been experiencing high-pitched noise in both ears especially at night for three months. As a result, he could not sleep well. Medical tests, however, came out negative. Once again, the root cause was stress since he had just come from a problematic relationship. The patient was getting depressed. After the second reflexology treatment, the ringing noise decreased, remaining only slightly in the left ear and enabling him to get better sleep. After five treatments, the tinnitus was completely cured. He also became more relaxed and more optimistic about his life.
According to Martin, a large part of the success of the reflexology treatments could be attributed to the discussion of the patients’ problems, providing a venue for the relief of stress which was the root cause of their tinnitus. She points out that most doctors do not give enough importance to the therapeutic benefits of listening closely to their patients. Martin, on the other hand, puts great value in establishing a good relationship with her patients in therapy, endeavoring to provide them not only with care but also with encouragement and self-empowerment. She declares that reflexology eliminates stress and brings about a positive state of emotions and sense of well-being that gives patients the ability to resolve their affliction.
Even after successful treatment with reflexology massage therapy, patients and their families can also enjoy deep tissue massage therapy, Swedish massage therapy, sports massage therapy and pregnancy massage therapy at therapeutic massage spas in Bradenton and Sarasota FL.
