I suffered from this for many years and the more I went to the doctor, the more medications got prescribed and the louder the sound got. What helped me was to get off all prescribed meds. I started detoxing my body and found some natural remedies and the ringing in my ear has stopped!

I am now a firm believer in trying natural cures to get relief. You may want to give it a try to cure ringing ears.

If I were you I would look on the internet for a forum about this ( ask questions there ) that a specialist can help you with.Ask your Doc to refer you to a ENT again, a different one.

Determine the cause of the tinnitus by seeing your doctor for a proper diagnosis. The list of causes is extensive and includes head injury, vascular problems, ear infections, tumors, loud noise, hearing loss and the side effects of medications. The treatment for tinnitus depends on the cause. Note that since some medications can cause tinnitus, the doctor may also check for this and change your prescription accordingly.

Wow do a search with Wikipedia, there is a ton of information about it. It says that tinnitus is not itself a disease but a symptom resulting from a range of underlying causes, I bet you will be able to figure out what is going on and soon will be able to rid yourself of the symptoms before you do and up in the loony bin. good luck!

Hi

I sympathise with your situation, as I have a condition that has a similar effect as tinnitus. Unfortunately there isn't a cure for either yours or mine. I have managed to significantly improve mine though.

As someone else has said, tinnitus is actually a symptom of something else, not a condition itself. But don't worry, it's extremely rare that it is a symptom of anything serious.

As I've said, there are no cures, but there are things that can help (be careful with prescription or over the counter drugs - some of these can actually make it worse). There are techniques that can significantly reduce the ringing in the ears. I'm not medically qualified (!) so I'm not going to recommend a specific method I'm afraid, but there are a lot around on the internet. Just be careful, and never actually put anything in your ear. Good luck.
